How to Spot Fake News, Malicious website, overall bunk

As we get into the final 100 days of the Presidential Election year, please do your best to spot fake news, malicious websites, and the like.

A good rule of thumb is that if it looks fishy, it probably is.

Take a look at this info-graphic from the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions.

Libraries are here to help you sort through the sources to discover accurate and up to date information. If you want current, vetted sources of information, use Culpeper County Library's listing of Journals, Magazines, & Newspapers found on http://youseemore.com/culpeper/contentpages.asp?loc=159 or go to cclva.org, hover to the Research tab at the top, select General Research, and scroll down to Journals, Magazines, & Newspapers. Another place to check good magazines is using RB Digital and their magazine services that you can use in an app on your smartphone or tablet!

See the Information Desk at Culpeper County Library for details.
